PFAS Doesn't Stop at the Regulatory Line

My daughter recently used glitter for a project in our basement, the only place we allow it. Days later, I found a single speck in my bathroom two floors up. I do not know exactly how it got there. Maybe it stuck to her clothes, was tracked upstairs or transferred between surfaces. I know where it started and where I eventually found it, but not the pathway between them. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) often make me think about that speck of glitter.
