Rockies place Freeland on IL with pinched nerve

The Colorado Rockies placed pitcher Kyle Freeland, the left-hander who left his start on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers after 3 2/3 innings, on the 15-day injured list Monday because of a pinched nerve.
