Rockies place Sugano, 36, on IL with back spasms

Veteran right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano, 36, who was slated to start Saturday night for Colorado against San Francisco at Coors Field, was instead placed on the 15-day injured list due to back spasms by the Rockies just before their 6-4 loss to the Giants.
