The dial pairs a grained central finish with a fine satin-finished outer ring, displaying English day and month apertures at 12 o'clock, a blue-coated central hand pointing to the date periphery, and a blue enamelled moonphase disk at 6 o'clock with meteorite full and new moons.Underneath the sapphire caseback beats the newly developed in-house Calibre 7190, an automatic movement operating at a high frequency of 36,000 vph with a 66-hour power reserve. Protected by 30 patent applications, the calibre incorporates Rolex's silicon Dynapulse escapement, a thick-coiled Syloxi hairspring, and a high-tech ceramic balance staff for magnetic resistance. Its annual calendar mechanism relies on the newly patented Haplos system, which comprises just an additional carrier finger and an annual lever, allowing the watch to automatically distinguish between 30- and 31-day months so it only requires correction once a year when February transitions to March.
