The land is being developed by Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments.Escape the Nether starts, like the game, in a minecart. Riders board and join Steve and Alex, Minecraft's default playable characters, on a run through the Nether, the game's fiery underworld dimension. Along the way they face hostile mobs head-on before a launch sends them back to the Overworld. The Nether setting also means the ride's scenery features lava throughout.The hotel is themed from the moment guests arrive. Check-in is designed to look like the Overworld, with blocky trees and animals setting the scene. The lifts are styled after Nether Portals, and the hallways are built to look like mine tunnels, so getting to a room feels like exploring the game.The bedrooms, which the hotel calls "respawn points," bring the game's visual style into real life. Rooms are designed with Minecraft's blocks, items, mobs, textures and colors, aiming to appeal to longtime players and newcomers alike.Food and drink follow the same approach, each tied to a specific part of the game. The restaurant is underwater-themed, inspired by Minecraft's ocean biomes. The bar is modeled on the Woodland Mansion, and its drinks are styled as the game's colorful potions. Beyond the ride and hotel, the wider land will include areas based on the Overworld's lush caves, mineshafts and plains, along with mob meet-and-greets, play areas and themed shops.Minecraft World, Escape the Nether and the Minecraft Hotel are set to open at Chessington World of Adventures Resort in 2027, with an exact date yet to be announced.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
