Valerie Brathwaite, Whose Curvaceous and Colorful Sculptures Channeled the Natural World of the Caribbean, Is Dead

Trinidadian-born Caracas-based abstract sculptor Valerie Brathwaite, who drew on what she described as the “overwhelming beauty” of nature to create vibrantly hued organic forms, has died.
