White Mountaineering x Alpha Industries Splice Three Military Classics Into Two Hybrid Jackets
SummaryWhite Mountaineering and ALPHA INDUSTRIES return for a third collaboration, built around two military-derived outerwear stylesA hybrid coat starts from the N-3B and borrows details from the MA-1 and CWU-45P, while a hybrid flight jacket pairs an MA-1 silhouette with N-3B elementsBoth styles combine water-repellent, high-density shells with a breathable, windproof WINDSTOPPER liningWhite Mountaineering and Alpha Industries have reunited for their third collaboration, a two-piece outerwear release that blends the American military outfitter’s archive with the Japanese label’s functional design. Rather than reissuing a single classic, each jacket mixes elements from several military flight and cold-weather styles into one hybrid build. The hybrid coat takes the N-3B as its foundation, keeping the longer, cold-weather proportions of the original while adding details drawn from both the MA-1 and the CWU-45P. Combining three distinct references in one garment gives the coat a familiar military feel without tying it to any single archival piece. The hybrid flight jacket works the same idea in reverse. It keeps the shorter, instantly recognizable silhouette of the MA-1 and layers in details from the N-3B, bringing some of the parka’s practicality into a more compact flight-jacket shape. Both styles share the same technical foundation. Each is cut from a densely woven fabric treated with a water-repellent finish to handle wet conditions, while the interior is lined with WINDSTOPPER, a membrane that blocks wind while letting moisture escape. That pairing allows both jackets to protect against the elements without trapping heat and sweat inside. The White Mountaineering x Alpha Industries collaboration drops October 31 via White Mountaineering stores, the White Mountaineering online store and select stockists across Japan.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
